Become a Member
Use your technical expertise and knowledge to improve gender equality, both at a grassroots and country-wide level.
Our Members come from a range of backgrounds, but all have the common goal of working to improve gender equality in Myanmar. Membership is open to representatives from non-profit, non-partisan NGOs, civil society organisations, INGOs, networks and Technical Resource Persons.
Organisations seeking membership must submit a GEN Membership Application Form, which also requires applicant's organization profile, two recommendation letters; one from existing GEN Members and one from head of applicant's organization.
Technical Resource Person seeking membership must submit a GEN Membership Application Form, which also requires applicant's CV, two recommendation letters from existing GEN Members.
Membership applications are then approved by the GEN Steering Committee before a new Member is officially welcomed into the Gender Equality Network.

The Gender Equality Network is a member-driven network, and views the active participation of its members as key to its work. All members have the right to raise issues, provide comments and offer recommendations on matters relevant to the activities, operations and strategic directions of GEN. All members have the right to participate in nominations and elections of Steering Committee members and Co-Chairs.
Observers and Friends of GEN
United Nations agencies are welcome to join GEN in an Observer capacity. Observers may not vote in GEN decision-making or proceedings but can take part in certain Working Group meetings at the Steering Committee’s discretion. Observers are also welcome to attend our meetings and events.
Friends of GEN are interested individuals or organisations who wish to learn more about GEN’s activities, particularly in cases where they may not meet the membership criteria. Friends of GEN receive a range of our information and can access select GEN resources but do not attend meetings. They are welcome to attend our events.
